Modoc Railroad Academy
uses an industry approved
curriculum. Both our classroom
and railroad operations
have been inspected and
approved by officials
from BNSF, Union Pacific,
Amtrak and other railroad
companies from across
the nation. No other program
offers such a dynamic
and leading edge curriculum
as Modoc Railroad Academy.
Students learn operating
rules, track-side signaling
systems, hazardous materials,
railroad safety, freight
car braking systems and
more. Students will spend
four weeks in the classroom
and four weeks training
on the school's railroad. |

One of the most unique
features of the Modoc
Railroad Academy is its
own operating railroad
used for the exclusive
use of our students. Students
learn practical and real
world hands on experience
with boxcars, flatcars
and various other types
of school owned rail cars.
Instructors often set
up various railroad problems
and scenarios for students
to solve in a safe and
controlled environment. |

Major railroads hire
students directly from
Modoc Railroad Academy.
Graduates from Modoc Railroad
Academy work on railroads
from Alaska to New England,
but generally railroads
west of Chicago are our
strongest points. Modoc
Railroad Academy assists
all students with job
placement service, including
interview preparations,
drug testing and goal
counseling. However, neither
the Modoc Railroad Academy
nor does any of its railroad
partners guarantee or
imply employment. |
